Update on Nicole’s Husband

A message from Nicole with an update on her husband, Billy.

Thank you for your prayers for Billy and me today. He went in for a Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection (RPLND) around 11:45 this morning and we met with the doctor when he was finished around 4:15. Dr. Stephenson considered the surgery a success. He removed two tumors that looked suspicious and he did confirm that they were malignant. They also removed the remaining lymph nodes in his abdomen. Dr. Stephenson said they went into this surgery looking for it to be a cure, and he feels that their attempts were successful. Billy now has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He will remain at the Cleveland Clinic for another 4-5 days (originally we were told 2-3, so who knows how long we’ll really be here), and then it’s another 4-6 weeks that he’ll have to really take it easy at home.

Many of you have asked what needs we currently have, and at this point most things have been taken care of. I’m sure once we get home and adjusted, we’ll find things that may be easier with an extra hand or two. If so, you can expect a call. 🙂

In the mean time, if you’d like to send any encouraging notes to Billy at the hospital you can send it to:

Again, thank you thank you THANK YOU for all your prayers. They mean the world to us. We could not make it through all this as easily as we have without the love and support of our friends and family. Feel free to forward this along to any others who you know would like the update.
