New Matrix – EAP

To All Employees:

I am pleased to announce that effective 2/1/2019, Delaware County District Library will be offering its employees and their families (spouses and dependent children) a new employee benefit, an Employee Assistance Program with Matrix.  We are offering this new benefit at no cost to you in the hope that you will take advantage of the EAP whenever you experience personal problems of any kind, whether or not they are affecting your job performance.

Everyone experiences personal problems from time to time, but sometimes they can become overwhelming.  Our organization, just like other concerned employers nationwide, realizes that associates who are distracted by personal problems cannot do their best on or off the job.  Work as well as family life can suffer.  By providing an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), we hope to encourage associates and their families to seek help, at no cost, when a problem first appears and can most easily be resolved.

Our EAP provider will be Matrix Psychological Services.

Although Delaware County District Library is sponsoring this program, your privacy is a critical part of its success.  Because confidentiality is such a vital concern no information about any case will ever be reported to the company without your written consent.

You can call the EAP with any kind of personal problem:

  • Family or marital problems
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Financial or legal concerns
  • Substance abuse
  • Anything else that concerns you or your family

Appointments can be scheduled by calling Matrix at 800-886-1171.The EAP coordinator will then help you choose a qualified therapist at a convenient location.  The EAP will cover up to 6 sessions with a Matrix therapist at absolutely no cost to you.  Those sessions are covered in full by the EAP.  We are confident that most problems will be resolved within that time frame; however, cases requiring further therapy will be billed under the terms of your health insurance.  Depending on your health plan, you may be responsible for some out-of-pocket expenses (like co-payments and deductibles) for visits beyond the EAP visits.

Employees with legal or financial problems can also call Matrix for help.  These cases will be offered either a free telephone consultation or a free half-hour office visit with an attorney.  Additional legal services will be provided at a reduced fee.

Employees may also access the Matrix website,  A variety of wellness and work/life resources can be accessed by the site, including the ability to e-mail a question to a psychologist, who will respond within 24 hours. 

We feel this Employee Assistance Program is the finest available anywhere.  You and your families should feel very comfortable knowing that you are in completely capable hands and that your confidentiality is absolutely guaranteed.  Most importantly, if you have a problem, don’t be afraid to call.  No problem is too big or too small.  Please keep the Matrix brochure handy in case you ever need the EAP.
