Please stay home–Part 2

Based on the extension of the stay-at-home advisory from the federal government, the appeal by Governor DeWine and Dr. Acton to limit contact, and the continued closing of Ohio’s schools, the Delaware County District Library’s physical buildings and bookmobile will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, May 4, 2020. We will extend the due date for all library materials to Monday, May 11, 2020.

We have already seen the Columbus Metro, Westerville, Worthington, and Grandview libraries make this very difficult decision.

Please do not come into the library unless you have an essential task that you can ONLY do in the building! We need to have the buildings as empty as possible in order to do our part to reduce the possibility of person-to-person transmission. Maintaining the physical plant, making sure that payroll is done, and ensuring that the book drops do not overflow are essential. Pretty much everything else is non-essential.

Please continue to hone your skills with webinars and readings, but even more important, please take good care of yourself, your family, your neighbors and your colleagues. As Dr Acton and Gov DeWine keep saying, we are all in this together!

If you have any questions about what is essential and what isn’t, please ask me. I am on e-mail constantly, and you can also reach me by phone or text at 614-783-7973.Thanks!
