Voter Services Day Today!

Today marks 7 weeks until Election Day. To celebrate, the Voter Services Team is asking that you please bring up our voter services with every patron that you have an interaction with.

Of course, this can be done casually or worked into your regular interactions. You should have stickers, forms and info brochures that arrived in deliveries to your library. Ask your Voter Services team member if you are unaware of where these are or where they can be printed.

Voter Services Team Members are:

  • Pam Taylor
  • Hannah Simpson
  • Nicole Fowles
  • Laurie Post
  • Denise Kilton
  • Joy Kelch
  • Melissa Dougherty
  • Cindi Bardash
  • Amber Imbrogno

Here are some script examples you can use wherever you are:

Checking Out at the Circulation Desk: [While checking out their materials] Today we’re celebrating 7 weeks until the election. Please help yourself to a voter registration form, absentee ballot request form, or general information flyer on the desk [have them within reach of the patron at checkout]. If you want to fill out any form here today, just turn it back in to me, and we will deliver it to the Board of Elections on your behalf.

Answering Phones for Curbside Service: [After you confirm their book requests and car location] Also, today we’re celebrating 7 weeks until the election. Along with your materials, could I bring you a voter registration form, absentee ballot request form, or general information about the election this November? [Wait for answer, if they request a form, follow with] I’ll get that for you now. If you want to fill out this form here today, we will deliver it to the Board of Elections on your behalf. Just give us a call again when you’ve got it filled out and we’ll come collect it.

Drive-Up Service: [After you confirm their book requests] Also, today we’re celebrating 7 weeks until the election. Along with your materials, would you like a voter registration form, absentee ballot request form, or general information about the election? [Wait for answer, if they request a form, follow with] I’ll get that for you now. If you want to fill out this form here today, we will deliver it to the Board of Elections on your behalf. Just park in a space, fill it out, and circle back through when it’s completed.

General Reference Interaction: [After completing your reference transaction] If there’s nothing else I can help you with today, I just wanted to let you know that today we’re celebrating 7 weeks until the election. You can help yourself to a voter registration form, absentee ballot request form, or general information flyer on the desk there [have them within reach of the patron at reference desk]. If you want to fill out any form here today, just turn it back in to me, and we will deliver it to the Board of Elections on your behalf.

* Please remember to collect all forms throughout the day, then bundle them in one envelope and either allow your voter services team member (if they’re in) or someone from the location to send the inter-office envelope via deliveries to Pam at Delaware.
